What the countdown is counting to
November 19, 2026 is the confirmed release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar set it in November 2025 and restated it when pre-orders opened in June 2026.
The timer above runs to midnight on that date in your own time zone. That is a calendar reference, not a promise about when the game becomes playable where you are. Platforms decide unlock times per region, and only one official time has been published so far: the US PS5 product page lists November 19 at 05:00 UTC.

Has it been delayed before?
Twice. The game moved from a Fall 2025 window to May 26, 2026, then to November 19, 2026 in an announcement on November 6, 2025. Rockstar’s stated reason for the second move was that the extra months let the studio reach “the level of polish you expect and deserve”.
